Clinging to life.

Clinging to life.

Book review by Dr. Evelyn Gonzales-Del Rio:

Little Heather clung to life by a fragile margin, one breath at a time. Voiceless Child is a true story of baby Heather’s unlikely survival that all people should read, especially those who care for premature infants or abandoned children. In the book, miraculous surgery gives the mute child a voice, and a chance meeting gives her a family.

Innately baby Heather possessed the tools for a brighter future, yet she languished in a pediatric intension care unit. Her prospects were bleak, as dismal as those of a hardy seed sowed into a hostile environment. Such fragile children thirst for a family’s love and life’s normal learning experiences in order to prosper.

All medical and nursing schools should include reading Voiceless Child as part of their curriculum in order to sensitize the mind and souls of future physicians and nurses.

Thanks Heather for fighting to survive and inspiring your adoptive family to dream the improbable. Enjoy reading Voiceless Child and experiencing the ups, downs, and joys of the miracle of Heather.
